Ephesians 4 30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.31Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.32Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you
As I sit here listening to the best of James Taylor, I reminisce. I reminisce about simpler times. Times when I was younger, when my parents were younger. Times that we viewed as hard.
They were hard times, my family dealt with a shit ton of evil in the past but at this moment I still see it as a better time. I think it is because there was more hope flowing through the world.
Most people still had dreams for their lives believing that they could accomplish anything, that the possibility of better was always around the corner. Now we are seeing hate and fear rise up in this world.
People are starting to lose hope. Their dreams of home ownership, having children, living the American Dream, they are all being threatened by this virus, murder on television, rioting, defunding law enforcement and politics. This is the problem when you find your hope in people or things, people die and things are taken.
Is this God’s fault? NO, it is our fault. God gave us His Word (Jesus) to guide us in our lives and in our hearts. People have rebelled and are destroying the world that was given to us. We are destroying each other. For what? Pride? Believing we know better than God does, when God is the one who created everything?
Our ways have turned into us hating each other even more now, due to our skin color and people are actually ending relationships with family/friends because they don’t agree on who should be president…
The spirits of hate and malice are rising up in people and that energy is weighing heavy on everyone. When George Floyd was murdered I had a vision of the enemy rising up through the things that are now happening in this world.
I saw what I can only explain as, hot, solid lava rising up from below the ground, cracking the pavement as it rose. My body started to tremble uncontrollably and I experienced what I can only imagine is pure terror.
I saw this as the enemy rising up powerfully, using and destroying everyone within his grasp. The enemy is the one to blame but many are allowing him to use them, to accomplish what? What will any of this accomplish in the end? Will everyone be happy and peaceful? Will everyone be treated as equals?
As a Christian I just want to disappear and wait for Jesus to take me home but we are called to a bigger purpose than just surviving.
Even in these times (and it will be getting much worse) we are called to do the opposite. We are told to get rid of all malice and anger. We are called to love and forgive EVERYONE.
If you truly, within your heart, became a Christian, a follower of Christ then you will follow Him even in this. God’s Spirit is love and we need it now more than ever.
I rather live and end my life covered in love than to ever give into the spirit that is rising up within this world. Time for us to rise up too my friends!
