Do you live the Truth or just use it as a weapon?

Galatians 2:13 The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray.

In this piece of Scripture God was teaching that Jews are not better than gentiles and that they should not be segregated. Peter was appointed to preach the Gospel to the Jews and Paul to the gentiles, but they were to treat them all the same.

Well Peter was experiencing peer pressure (high school) by his fellow Jewish brothers and separated himself from the gentiles. This led others to follow him and his example, causing even strong Christians to stray from the Truth.  In reality giving the wrong view of the Gospel and why Jesus came.

This is why it’s so important for us to live the Gospel. It is important for a person to look into our lives and see different. We are to be leaders in what we say we believe.

I know I have led some astray, friends are famous for this. When one falls they pull the other with them. I am doing everything I can to change some of my sin, the sin that pulls others down with me. I know what it is and I pray everyday for God to release me from the bondage I am in. I want to show my friends and others that there is freedom in the Truth, there is freedom in Christ.

I want to be strong and help them to also be strong, pulling them up instead of down.

I don’t want to give the wrong impression of the Gospel.

Paul confronted Peter about this (rebuked him), because we are to do that in order to help each other stay on track and not stray from the Truth.

It is hard I know, when someone calls you on your sin, but try to keep an open mind because even if they are doing it with wrong motives or even in the wrong manner, it doesn’t change the fact that you might just have something to change.
