John 8:44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
2 Timothy 2:26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.
John 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
Ephesians 2:8–9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
I have come to realize that many people who don’t believe in God, seem to have a problem with the idea of being controlled by something so powerful.
If you think about it though, you are controlled by something. If you think in the terms of Scripture, your either controlled by God or the enemy. If you think in the terms of the world, you are controlled by that addiction, your career, that relationship, etc.
Satan is the father of the world, he is our biggest influence right here on earth, he is a liar. He makes us believe that what we are doing is right, and that it helps us. We lie to ourselves and being honest with ourselves is the hardest thing and sometimes the most painful. He is a murderer, taking us with him to Hell, with his lies. If you follow him, you are his child, you are under his control.
I know the biggest problem is if there is a God, then why was my life so painful, if God Loves me then why was I so hurt?
For one, we have free will, we have the choice to decide, God will never push Himself on us. There is a certain Grace that draws and helps us all right now, even if you don’t believe. Every time something comes through just in the nick of time or how you survived that abusive childhood was God’s Grace helping you.
Second, you were hurt as a child because you were under the control of a fallen and sinful human being, who was just following the generational curse that they learned in their childhood. Then as an adult you thought you took control of your life when actually you probably followed suit in many forms of your childhood, keeping up the abuse on yourself.
So I can see where control would be a scary thing, especially with a God who can raise the dead.
That is just it though, He did raise Himself, Jesus, from the grave so that you could find victory in your life through HIm, so you can find peace and security through His promise that if you accept that He died for you, because He loves you that much, you will be forgiven and spend eternal life in Heaven (Paradise).
He couldn’t stop the things that happened, but He helped you survive them. If you would give Him a chance, He would help you heal and see the pure Joy of Him, that can even be found while being in this world.
When you decide to become His child, you are choosing to have a Father who loves you and protects you. A Father who is only out for your best interest and your well being, even though you have hated Him so much.
When you decide to become His child, then He gives you His Spirit to live inside of you and help you. This is how we can fight the Spirit of Satan that is in this earth. Without the Holy Spirit we are helpless and follow the world.
Then when you receive the Spirit you receive a whole different Grace, a Grace that transcends all understanding, we can’t even fathom the amazing things that start to take place in our lives.
Like I said there is a certain Grace for all of us right now, but in the end, when you are in Hell, if you choose to keep being controlled by the enemy, there will be no Grace left for you. If you think what you have endured in this world has been Hell, just wait until there is nothing but that left, without any piece/peace of the Father around you.
So my question is, why is it so bad to put your Faith in a Father who Loves you, died for you, and wants to restore you?
We believe in many things we can’t see, that’s what Faith is, so what are you putting your Faith into?
