John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
I was thinking today about how you can be in a room full of people and still feel completely alone.
This made me think of why we feel alone with all these people around, socializing with us.
For one thing, you will always feel a sense of being alone if you don’t have a relationship with Jesus, because there is a void within you that needs to be filled. When that spot is filled by the Spirit of your creator you will never feel alone, even in a room all by yourself.
Back to the first point though, when you think about it, you probably have hundreds of acquaintances but few friends.
Why is this?
I believe a friend is a person who you can share everything about yourself with, not worrying about judgement. They will love you no matter what, no matter how much time has passed. They will come to your aid no matter how many times you mess up with the same thing.
A friend is someone you have a relationship with. Someone you trust and know intimately.
That is why I believe we can be in a room full of people and be alone. It is about relationship, a deep meaningful and unconditional relationship. People are so scared to share who they really are because of the worlds view of who you should be and because of the shame you feel because you don’t live up to that view, that is what makes relationships impossible to form. Your letting the world determine who you are supposed to be. This makes all relationships surface level.
It’s the same with God. You can walk around on the surface, saying “I am a Christian , you can go to Church and even donate some time or money to others in need, but still not know God.
To be considered His child, you need to know Him, to be His friend. You need to trust Him and tell Him all about yourself and get to know Him and all about Himself. He is a deep God.
So the way I see it, you can walk around in life having surface relationships that have no power in your life and fulfill nothing or you can seek out relationships and experience the fullness of life.
Other’s don’t need to change for you to experience this, you need to change to experience this and guide others to also. You need to be real and intimate. You need to be secure within yourself to accomplish this.
You need to let God lift the shame you feel and show you what is really important, He can only show you your identity. It is so much easier to see your true worth when you know who you really are.
You need to become a child and get to know your Father.
