Words are cheap!!!!

Matthew 7: 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!

I had taught my Sunday school class about this and it came up again with my daughter tonight.

She was saying sorry to me for something that had happened over and over again. I told her to think about if she couldn’t speak, would people know she loves them? Would I know she loves me?

This Scripture came to mind a couple minutes later. When we stand before Jesus and tell Him “but I said this and that, I said you were Lord” and He says “I never knew you” it will be because we said words but didn’t back them up with actions. We didn’t walk with Him as though we really believed He was Lord. We didn’t produce good fruit to replace the bad fruit.

So many people want to believe that if you just have the thought that Jesus existed you will go to Heaven. So many want to believe when you are born again and saved, that’s it, your saved. I believe that we can lose our Salvation and I will share that at a later time with plenty of Scripture to back it up. God wouldn’t emphasize producing fruit if we were off the hook and could just kick back and wait for Him to come back. He doesn’t just listen to our words and believe us, He searches our hearts and watches our actions.

If Jesus said “I love you” but went on His way leaving us to rot in Hell, would we really feel loved?

No, we know we are loved by His actions of giving His own life for us so we have a chance to get into Heaven, but we need to show our Love for Him because of what He did for us by our actions.

Just remember words are cheap. People should know you love them without one single word.

Not everyone will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but only the one who DOES the will of my Father.
