He has risen (:

Ephesians 2:5 that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)

I remember 2 years ago at this moment I was at a man’s house who I had just met online. I was drinking and spent the night. I was so tired before I went because I had partied Thursday and Friday, but I was compelled to drive to this man’s house. I was a slave to this sin, it controlled me. Even though I felt more horrible about myself every time I did this I had to again and again.

I got a few hours sleep and had to get up for Church to celebrate Easter. I was so tired and probably still drunk. I remember walking into Church pretending all was good and I was doing fine. Little did I know a month later God would come to me and change my life. All I remember from that service is my Pastor saying “He has risen”, I didn’t understand then but I do now.

He rose from the dead to free me from the sin that was bringing me further into my grave. I was dying everyday, my life was being sucked right out of me. When He came to me he rose me up with Him. He set me free and the truth sets me free more and more everyday.

Now I go celebrate the life I now have, the peace, Joy, and hope of a future. Most of all a future in Heaven with Him.

Jesus thank you for taking the weight of my sin on your shoulders and setting me free. Thank you for setting me apart and bringing me into the light. Thank you for saving me just because you love me, for I know I have done nothing to deserve your forgiveness for living a life so opposite of what you intended.
