Hebrews 12:4 In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood
God requires blood for blood. We are to offer our bodies as living sacrifices. Our hearts are circumcized and we are given a heart of flesh. All because Jesus shed his blood for us, to take the wrath we deserve.
Don’t be confused though, you need to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you need to remain in Him and Him in you. How can you say He is my Lord and you live your life without Him guiding you, without being set free and having sin broken in your life?
Matthew 7:22-23 Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles? 23 Then I will tell them plainly, “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!”
In modern terms, “Lord, didn’t we go through the motions and say there was power in your name.” “Didn’t I pray to you when I was in real trouble”.
Jesus could respond “Was my power and glory being shown in your life?” “Does a relationship consist of talking to a person only when you need assistance out of a crisis?”
“I never knew you, you didn’t want a relationship with me. You didn’t want to shed your blood and let me assist you in transforming your life. You were more afraid of what your friends would think of you if you didn’t sin”.
I fear the day when He comes, not for myself, but for so many who think they are in relationship with Him and will be told to leave Him.
Life is hard now and that is with God’s mercy and love being around us even when we don’t believe yet. When His presence is gone forever from your sight, what will it be like?
This boy told me a story about how if it wasn’t for him being arrested and going to jail, he would probably be dead from heroine use. That was God’s mercy, He knew jail was the only way to stop this young man. Many people think God is mean to let people suffer like that, but to Him, he is showing his love. It is our free will and choices that put us in those situations. If we actually communicated and depended on God and believed His Truth, we would be a lot better off.
You have to bear fruit, you should bear fruit if you are sealed by the Spirit guaranteeing your Salvation. If there is no fruit, then what proof is there of Jesus as your Savior. If you do things out of obligation, without it moving in your heart, you are just going through motions.
Matthew 3:10 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.
We already have the guarantee of hell and being dead when we are born, and we earn that over and over in our lives. But He says that everyone that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown in the fire. He is confiming Hell to us, He says this many times. Repent, be fruitful. Does He say “try to repent and be fruitful, but if you can’t it is ok?” No, he says do it.
Shedding blood brings fruit to, repenting is shedding blood at times. I need to shed my blood in some area’s in my life and the one area that is really in my way is, smoking. In honor of Jesus’ death on that cross, I want to give up this habit, this idol that I go to when I am stressed out and I want to shed my blood for Him. I want to show His glory in this area in my life and I want to produce more good fruit.
I have tried this quitting thing for over a year and I have realized it is going to hurt, but it will pass. It will strengthen me and bring new life and confidence. That is the only way He knows how to work in our lives.
How can you shed your blood for Him, in honor of His blood shed for you?
